Our mental health is important! I do a lot of things to assure I keep myself together. I have gone to therapy, as I mentioned before I love solo trips, and I love to pamper myself. I get massages pretty often and they help. They make me feel good…I journal and listen to lots of uplifting messages. I pray… a lot…
It’s important for us to take care of ourselves. It’s even more important for us to be comfortable enough and self aware of ourselves to step out of what society might deem as bad. We ALL can benefit from counseling and or life coaches to assist us becoming the best us we can be.
To be happy, you have to love you! You must love yourself to be happy and fulfilled!
Meet Alicia! She and I bonded when I moved to Germany. Her kindness and assistance helped me learn a lot while I was there. One of the best gifts she gave me was allowing me to share love and receive love from two amazing kiddos!
Alicia has been able to juggle mommyhood and be more than an exceptional wife and this is something that many of us take for granted. I would sit back in admiration watching how she was able to do this when I first met her. I have one child…. and I have lots of help. She has two and she does most of it while her husband is working whole volunteering, working, and everything else that amazing women like her do!
Cheers to Alicia!
Below my beautiful friend Alicia shares her responses:
Ki O’Shea: Where is your happy place?
Mrs. A.S.: My happy place sometimes depends on my mood (depression, anxiety, stress, etc). My happy place can be as simple as receiving a hug and some cuddles from my 4 year old to putting on a movie and letting my creative side out by painting or volunteering my time for our country’s soldiers.
Ki O’Shea: How did you find your happy place?
Mrs: A.S.: It took me a long time to find my happy place. My happy place came about during my darkest moments. I was severely depressed, my marriage was failing and I was feeling incomplete overall.I decided I need to find something that made me happy and brought back the sun so to speak.
Ki O’Shea: What suggestions would you give to people struggling to find happy?
Mrs. A.S.: If you’re struggling to find your happy place, I promise it will all be worth it. Don’t ever give up.
Ki O’Shea: Are you fulfilled?
Mrs. A.S.: For me, I’m content now. I’ve found balance and happiness that I didn’t think was possible.
